I have lived in Idaho since 1999, when I moved here for college. I attended Albertson College of Idaho that year, and got married and had two wonderful children. That was also the year that I discovered my love for tax preparation. So after my children were older, I decided to go back to school and get my Bachelors in Accounting Degree so I could open my own tax preparation company. While attending college, I discovered that I really enjoyed the bookkeeping aspect of Accounting.
My desire to open a business focused on taxes and bookkeeping was fueled by my desire to help others and having heard and seen what people are being charged for these services, Affordable Tax Prep & Bookkeeping Services was born. One thing that I have learned along my educational pursuit is that CPA’s are not necessarily highly skilled in tax preparation, so I wanted to stand out and make my focus taxes and bookkeeping only. This is why I am not a CPA, however, I am a CPB (Certified Public Bookkeeper), a registered tax return preparer (RTRP) with the IRS, currently working on my Enrolled Agents designation, as well as, a Quickbooks ProAdvisor. I am also a yearly volunteer with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program (VITA), sponsored through the IRS.
By specializing in the fields of just bookkeeping and tax Preparation, I can ensure that I am always assisting my clients with items that I am extremely skilled and knowledgeable in. I assist those needing individual and small business taxes, as well as, full charge bookkeeping services including payroll processing. I am a firm believer that business owners need a good quality bookkeeper in order to be able to successfully and efficiently focus on their business, and they shouldn’t have to be charged an arm and leg to do so.
